This year, Stone Fence Theatre continues its tradition of offering pre-show entertainment by some of the greatest Ottawa Valley entertainers, young and old. We are very grateful to these talented folks offering you (and us) their charm and talent:
Here's some info on this year's performers:
Wednesday, July 19 - Ken Ramsden - an absolute fixture of Canada's folk scene and a Stone Fence regular since our debut
Thursday, July 20 - Barbara Clarke - a multi-talented folk and jazz artist from Pembroke
Thursday, July 27 - Terry McLeish - The Valley's wryest and warmest singer-songwriter and longtime Stone Fence contributor
Wednesday, Aug. 2 - Peter Dawson and Carol Kennedy. Peter is a legend of Canadian fiddling. Carol is a legend of Fiddle World. Not to be missed.
Wednesday, August 9 - Emma and Will March - Two fiddle champions and terrific young people who have graced the Stone Fence stage many times
Thursday, August 10 (Barrys Bay) - Ray Chapeskie, Randy and Richard Sernoskie - Ray is a tireless promoter of Kashub and traditional music, as are Randy and Richard (husband and father-in-law, respectively, of our Creative Director, Chantal)
September, Sept. 16 - Emily Yarascavitch - another young fiddle champion with Round Lake roots who lives in Oshawa and comes to the Valley to fiddle around
Saturday, September 23 - Pat Moore - "Ottawa's country diva" (CBC) and a tireless organizer of community events in Ottawa
Saturday, September 30 - John McClements - John's Killaloe roots come through in all his wonderful songs about the area.
Saturday, Oct. 14 - Beatrice (fiddle) and Andrew (stepdancing) Herwig - two up-and-comers from the Eganville area who will charm you
Friday, October 20 - Megan Lavigueur - another fiddle champion, from Eganville, and an active fiddle teacher
Saturday, October 21 - Terry McLeish - still trying to figure out how to fold fitted sheets
Sunday, October 29 - Ken Ramsden - still spreading folk joy. Must have great batteries!
