Rap video defies stereotypes about rural life.

Although Stone Fence Theatre is known for history and heritage, this season we have surprised ourselves by releasing a rap video online. The rap "Don't Get My Valley Up!" was written by company producer Ish Theilheimer and Chantal Elie-Sernoskie, director of the new musical G'day, We're from the Valley, EH! It is one of 12 new songs in the musical, which include traditional,  country, blues and rock songs.

The video was directed by Elie-Sernoskie and produced by her brother, Ottawa videographer Shaun Elie, of Space Camp Collective. The music was recorded in Eric Stuart's workshop/music studio near Eganville and the scenes were shot in
many of Renfrew County's most prominent locations, with the show's cast grooving, moving and mugging for the cameras as percussionist/recording producer/actor Robin Pinkerton - a father of four young children - and Elie-Sernoskie - with two kids under below age - perform the rap. Music is by John Haslam, guitar; Robin, percussion; and Ish, bass and fiddle. The rap itself was written by Ish and Chantal.
